Daugavpils, the birthplace of Mark Rothko, is situated in the south-east of Latvia, 232km from the capital city, Riga. It is only 25km from Lithuania and 35km from Belarus. From London we would recommend travelling to Riga by air and then train from Riga to Daugavpils (around 4 ½ hours).  

Daugavpils has direct transport links to Latvia’s capital city Riga and also to Russia, Belarus and Lithuania.
